This serves as a "label" of sexual readiness and occurs particularly in humans and other animals.

\n\tApart from signal to perpetuation and reproduction, colors are used by several species of the animal kingdom to attract partner, particularly for the attraction of female companions. Contrary to what happens in humans, where female are dressed, groomed to attract males, in animals males are those who are responsible for attracting a partner.
