Πάμε σινεμά;
Απόψε έχει μια ειδική προβολή με δυο σπουδαία κινηματογραφικά έργα της δεκαετίας του ’50.
Το ένα είναι ένα κλασικό αστυνομικό φιλμ – νουάρ, φυσικά ασπρόμαυρο και το άλλο ένα καταπληκτικό μιούζικαλ.
Τι λέτε λοιπόν; Πάμε σινεμά;
Άντε, γρήγορα γιατί όπου να ’ναι η προβολή ξεκινά! Με το ασπρόμαυρο αστυνομικό έργο!
Το μάτι μας εστιάζεται στις ποσοτικές διαφορές του φωτός που διαγράφονται στην οθόνη και σχηματίζουν την εικόνα.
Στην οθόνη κυριαρχεί η φιγούρα της κοκκινομάλλας γόησσας. Κοκκινομάλλα είναι απλώς γιατί το ξέρουμε. Η πρωταγωνίστρια που υποδύεται την ηρωίδα του έργου είναι φημισμένη για τα κόκκινα μαλλιά της.
Όμως αυτό που πραγματικά βλέπουμε στην οθόνη δεν είναι χρώμα. Είναι ένα ποσοστό διαβάθμισης μεταξύ φωτός και σκότους. Ένα γκρίζο. Το ίδιο και το πράσινο φυτό που είναι στη γλάστρα του παραθύρου της. Έχει τον ίδιο γκρίζο τόνο με τα μαλλιά της, αλλά εμείς το θεωρούμε σαν πράσινο γιατί ξέρουμε ότι τα φυτά είναι πράσινα.
Το δεύτερο έργο είναι μια φαντασμαγορική μουσικοχορευτική ταινία, πλημμυρισμένη στη μουσική και στα χρώματα. Μια πανδαισία οφθαλμών. Τα κωνία μας σε πλήρη λειτουργία ερεθίζονται συνεχώς από τα πολύχρωμα φορέματα των χορευτριών, τους ανθοστόλιστους κήπους και τα πλούσια πολύχρωμα σκηνικά. Απόλαυση!
Όμως… βλέπει και ο διπλανός μας τα ίδια χρώματα με εμάς; Και ο μπροστινός;
Είμαστε σίγουροι πως βλέπουμε όλοι μας τα φλογερά χείλη της πρωταγωνίστριας να έχουν το ίδιο κόκκινο χρώμα;
Το πράσινο φόρεμά της είναι το ίδιο πράσινο για όλους μας;
Κανείς δεν μπορεί να είναι σίγουρος.

Tonight is a special screening with two great films of the ’50s.
One is a classic detective film – noir, of course in black and white. The other one is an amazing musical.

Our eyes are focused on quantitative differences of light moving on the screen to form the image.
The screen is dominated by the figure of the redhead charmer lady. Redhead is simply because we know it. The actress who plays the heroine of the project is famous for her red hair.
But what we really see on screen is not color. It is a graduation rate between light and darkness. It is just gray color. Almost the same gray color that has the “green plant” that is in the pot next to the window. It has the same gray tone as the hair, but we consider it “green” because we know that plants are green.
The second project is a spectacular musical film, rich in music and colors. A feast to the eyes! The cones in full function; irritated by the colorful dresses of the dancers, the flowers that filled the gardens and lush colorful scenery. Pleasure!
But … does the person sitting next to us sees exactly the same colors with us? And how about the one sitting in front of us?
Are we sure that we all see the fiery lips of the heroine in the same shade of red color?
Has her green dress the same green hue for all of us?
Nobody can be sure.
